Ever felt numb?

I am. I’m just kind of here. I don’t feel defeated. I don’t feel anything. I’m so glad God is not a FEELING. Times like these used to bother me. I’d search my heart to make sure I was right with God. I still do but not out of fear; just to make sure there is no undealt with sin. I went to church yesterday. Nothing. Today’s quiet time yielded nothing.

My daughter, Brittany, told me of a visiting preacher at her church who said, “In school, during a test, the teacher is silent but never leaves the room.” Encouraging words at a very silent time.
