The Storm of Victory

The storm can be our way to victory. Almost sounds like an oxymoron, doesn’t it?

About a month ago, our Pastor was talking about the exodus of the children of Israel through the Red sea. God caused the wind to part the sea but it didn’t blow the people away. The wind (storm) was actually FOR the people, not against them. If they had stood there forever they would have died but God was causing a storm as a way out for them.

I started thinking how they people had to move forward DURING the storm to get their freedom.

I don’t know about you, but in a storm, natural or spiritual, I tend to hunker down. But I think there will be times when we have to get out in the storm and walk through it to get to freedom. The pilgrims did this when they came to America. Jesus, Himself, did when He went to the cross to purchase our freedom.

As we see things progressing toward the Lord’s return, we are seeing many storms. My first thought is financial, but of course there are many natural disasters happening now. This perspective may help the next time we have a storm in our lives. Lord, help us not to fear the storm but see it for the instrument of freedom that You can make it.
