Press into Peace

I was listening to Joseph Prince talk about the woman with the issue of blood that touched the hem of Jesus’ garment. He had a unique perspective.

We all have “issues”, maybe not blood. But this woman pressed into Jesus. Sometimes the press is quite hard. But when we can touch Him with our problems and release them to Him, we get more than just healing. Jesus said in Mark 5:34: “Daughter, your faith has made you whole.” The Greek word for whole is sozo which means a combination of salvation, deliverance, healing and protection. He goes on to say: “Go in peace (go into peace in Gr.) and be whole of your plague.” This time the word for whole is hugies, meaning a progression into health, wellness and true doctrine. I believe He is making a point.

We can be healed, but we must also go “into” peace in order to sustain our health and wellness. Jesus said, “Let not your heart be troubled.” We are responsible for not letting our heart be troubled. Paul says, “LET the peace of God reign in your hearts.” Again our responsibility. We are to “guard our hearts for out of it flow the issues of life.” (There’s that word issue again.)

Like my daughter, Kristen said, “ Jesus gave us His peace (John 14:27), now we just have to enter in." Good word for these times.
